Logistics Supporter – Logistics & Distribution Centre Herning – Bang & Olufsen Operations a/s
Department
The Logistics & Distribution Centre Herning is the hub of logistics and distribution in the Bang & Olufsen Group. The centre in Herning, Denmark, comprises the distribution warehouse for Bang & Olufsen as well as Inbound Logistics and Outbound Logistics – including Automotive Logistics. Moreover, the centre is responsible for the development of the Bang & Olufsen logistics setup worldwide, with the Logistics Solution department as the starting point. The Logistics & Distribution Department has responsibility for operations, quality, logistical support and the purchasing of transport and distribution worldwide. In addition, the department is the link between the Shared Service Centres (subsidiaries) and production. The department works with a wide range of suppliers in the transport industry and has a broad internal interface to projects, Product Management, Purchasing, Finance, R&D and other divisions. Logistics & Distribution is distinguished by a high level of activity and tackles new challenges every day.
The job
The job of Logistics Supporter in the Inbound and Outbound departments consists of taking full or partial responsibility for the performance of assignments involving:
- Handling and co-ordination of warehouse activities in collaboration with the warehouse manager and staff.
- Handling and co-ordination of third party warehouses.
- Running daily scheduled transport and ad hoc transport assignments in collaboration with our transport partners.
- Freight calculation and instructions for handling transport.
- Preparation and follow-up on the freight and customs budget.
- Processing and handling general rules relating to the correct handling of customs: tariffs, suspension possibilities, bonded warehouses, passive/active processing, preferred origin, etc.
- Active participation in the development and future assurance of the centre.
Qualifications
We expect that you are a trained dispatcher or have other relevant qualifications from the field of logistics and transport, including customs processing. You are an outgoing, infectiously positive team player, who is willing to take the initiative. You enjoy the responsibility that comes from working with a high degree of independence. You tackle your assignments independently as they come, and you have a burning desire to be in the vanguard of your profession. You enjoy close contact with colleagues and partners at all levels.
