And, BeoSound 5 respects your taste in music. If you like, the intelligent MOTS feature actually ‘listens’ to the song you are playing – analyses the sound, dynamics, and rhythmic aspects. It then finds similar music and automatically offers a playlist that can take you to places in your music collection you may have forgotten you had. Every time a song ends, it is automatically followed by another that matches it harmoniously, unless you choose otherwise. If you want, you can of course still play a whole album or a playlist you created yourself.

Although we’re talking about digital music the pleasant smooth navigation wheel gives you a sensation of interacting seamlessly with your songs and albums, where cover art and music information are displayed elegantly on the beautiful screen.

You can of course also decide to take a seat and use any Bang & Olufsen remote control to operate and select music, or navigate everything easily using your mobile phone or handheld device. Or if your music is on the mobile phone, play it directly via BeoSound 5 on great Bang & Olufsen loudspeakers. This may lead you to hear things in your digital music you have never heard before.

With a storage capacity equivalent to approx. 175,000 tracks or 10,000 CD's and built with some of the best signal processing, BeoSound 5 supports playback of WMA and FLAC lossless files in addition to the compressed file formats. These lossless file formats contain the bits that go missing from compressed mp3 music. When nothing is missing, not even the cover art, you can leave your CDs on the shelf.

BeoSounBeoSound 5 owes it all to its hardworking companion BeoMaster 5. This unassuming black box offers storage of music in both compressed and lossless quality and  a stable connection to approx. 13,000 internet radio stations from all over the world. It allows you to manage music via your computer, show photos on your BeoVision, and play music via the BeoLink system to any room in your house.

If you need more storage capacity than what BeoMaster 5 can offer, BeoSound 5 can also stream music from a Bang & Olufsen certified home server, and thereby offer access to another centralised music library.
