The world’s first BeoVision 4-103 installation
As a direct result of the strong partnership between Odense Bang & Olufsen dealer, Bjarne Døi, and Enterprise, the world’s very first installation of BeoVision 4-103 took place in Denmark.
Family-owned Hotel Hesselet on the Danish island of Funen secured the very first
BeoVision 4-103 from the factory in Struer, for use in the hotel's newly-built conference room. Enterprise was responsible for the sale, while dealer Bjarne Døi was responsible for the installation itself. Technical Product Manager Brian Stigaard from Enterprise supervised the installation, after having received specialised training in the installation of the large television.
“For me, it’s just a large BeoVision 4. The system itself is exactly the same; the only difference is the weight. It’s the logistics of delivering it to the customer and all the things that need to be planned before the installation can start that are really challenging,” explains Brian Stigaard.
The first thing that must be taken care of is the sale itself. After this comes the technical visit to the customer site. The discussion covers quite unique issues that you only get with a 103 inch TV. You have to ensure there’s enough space to move the TV from the delivery truck to where it’s to be installed. You also need to ensure that the surface where the TV is being mounted can support the weight.

Following the technical visit, the dealer installed wall brackets and BeoSystem 3 in the conference room in preparation for the installation. This preparatory work took just under half a day to complete, and was done ahead of the main installation to avoid delaying the delivery people. After collecting the TV from the distribution centre in Herning, the delivery people drove to Hotel Hesselet, lifted it out of the truck, into the room and onto the wall. “The delivery people were very professional and deserve praise for their good work. They were never in any doubt about how to handle the large TV. Stefan and Peter from Bang & Olufsen Odense, who were in charge of the installation itself, also knew exactly what needed to be done. |
They were extremely competent and ensured an excellent result,” states Brian Stigaard.
The rest of the morning was spent taking care of cabling and setting up the TV. It took around three hours from opening the box to handover of the completed installation by Brian Stigaard and Bang & Olufsen to Hotel Owner Steen Sørensen and Hotel Manager Peter Karner.
“We had a good experience with the installation. It was fantastic to see the large television being set up, and step by step, getting it up and running. We ordered it a long time ago, so it's been quite a challenging wait; we’ve really been looking forward to getting it. It’s also the first BeoVision 4-103 ever to be installed, so for us it's fantastic that the world premiere has taken place here in Hesselet,” explains Peter Karner.
