Integrated Blu-ray* player
The BeoVision 7-40 and 7-55 come with an optional built-in Blu-ray drive. The fact that you can select a solution where the Blu-ray player is built-in is rather unique and Bang & Olufsen is one of the very few suppliers that offers that.
The Blu-ray player in BeoVision 7-40 and 7-55 includes the so-called BD Live feature (profile 2.0) which gives you a range of extra interactive possibilities via internet (additional material – film trailers etc).
*The name Blu-ray Disc is derived from the blue laser (violet-colored) used to read and write to this type of disc. In part because of the shorter wavelength (405 nanometres), substantially more data can be stored on a Blu-ray Disc than on a DVD.
Sound wise the Blu-ray player in BeoVision 7-40 and 7-55 supports the following formats: Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital + 7.1, Dolby Digital True HD 7.1, DTS 5.1, LPCM 7.1. Blu-ray discs with DTS HD 7.1 or DTS HD Master 7.1 will be decoded as DTS 5.1
