Product and battery takeback
Electrical and electronic equipment, parts and batteries marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin must not be disposed of with normal household wastage; all electrical and electronic equipment, parts and batteries must be collected and disposed of separately.
When disposing of electrical and electronic equipment and batteries by use of the collection systems available in your country, you protect the environment, human health and contribute to the prudent and rational use of natural resources. Collecting electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and waste prevents the potential contamination of nature with the hazardous substances which may be present in electrical and electronic products and equipment.
Your Bang & Olufsen retailer will advise you of the correct way of disposal in your country.
If a product is too small to be marked with the symbol, it will appear in the User Guide, on the Guarantee certificate, or on the packaging.

Restriction of use of certain harzadous substances
The restriction of use of certain harardous substances are implemented worldwide. It bans the use of lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, mercury and the brominated flame retardents polybromobiphenyl (PBB) and Polybromodiphenylethers (PBDE) in electrical and electronic equipment.
China has not adopted the restrictions equal to the rest of the world, so in China it is not at ban but a marking requirement and a requirement for information to customers.

Your Bang & Olufsen product is marked with the following symbol – it means that the environmentally friendly use period is 20 years.
The electronic information product is marked whether it contains hazardous substances or elements. If the product contains hazardous substances or elements, you are able to find more information in the product instruction booklet.
Eco design requirements for televisions (642/2009/EC)
Information about power consumption and peak luminance can be found in the technical specifications for the televisions.
Televisions and other electronic products form Bang & Olufsen may contain lead only in certain parts or components where no technology alternatives exist in accordance with existing exemption clauses under the RoHS Directive.
Televisions with CCFL backlight contain mercury which is in accordance with the existing exemption clauses under the RoHS Directive.

Japan RoHS declaration for Bang & Olufsen television
A Japanese regulatory requirement defined by specification JIS C 0950: 2008, mandates that manufacturers provide Material Content Declarations for certain categories of electronic products offered for sale after July 1, 2006.
