Bang & Olufsen of Lincoln was established in 1982, born out of the Sykes Video Links group of companies, founded by Geoff Sykes in 1969.
We quickly established ourselves as one of the UK’s premiere Bang & Olufsen retailers, and have subsequently added further stores in Leeds (Roundhay), Sheffield and Leicester, for which Lincoln serves as group administration Centre and head office.
These days we employ some 31 staff, 17 of whom are based here at the High Street head office, a far cry one might imagine from Geoff Sykes’ garage in Skellingthorpe, the archetypal "one man band". And yet, whilst the Company continues to evolve and to grow, the values remain the same – high quality products provided and cared for by committed, passionate people.

It is official - Bang & Olufsen of Lincoln is Britain’s best independent electrical retailer, according to ERT magazine, the bible (some say the heartbeat) of the home electronics industry.
ERT mystery shops many hundreds of stores throughout the UK every year, rating presentation, environment and product knowledge, and awarded the overall prize for 2007 to Bang & Olufsen of Lincoln, reward for "an exemplary experience – professional, personable and focused…"
In receiving the award Managing Director Gavin Sykes said "It is great to win a prestigious award like this, but essentially it is recognition for years of hard work by a great many people within the business. We are proud of our Lincoln business; it is not the biggest Bang & Olufsen store in the world, but it is consistently excellent, a reference point for the other stores within the Bang & Olufsen family."
