From MoMA to Lafayette Street  A century of collab culture

Over the last 97 years and counting, we’ve brought in some of the most significant figures in art and design to help us craft products that resonate with culture, while offering the best sound and vision experience available. It’s why our speakers sit in the Museum of Modern Art, as well as the living spaces of people around the world. To celebrate the launch of our special-edition Beosound Explore, designed alongside Supreme – New York’s modern masters of the collaboration – we’re looking back at some of our favourite co-creations, and the vision they offer of an artful life at home.

B&O & Supreme

Supreme and B&O are natural partners. From their original store on Lafayette St, they’ve grown to become one of the world’s most successful streetwear brands, with a reputation for bold, graphic design in the form of their omnipresent box logo. Our latest collaboration – the 4th in total – sees the Beosound Explore outfitted in black and their signature red, turning the rugged outdoor speaker into something as ready for the skatepark as it is for the trails.

B&O & David Lynch

There aren’t many directors who’ve earned their own adjective – but using the word ‘Lynchian’ instantly conjures up the dreamy, surreal images that typify his films. In 2018, he used a selection of images from “War Between the Shapes”, his 1970s series of artworks on paper, and “The Paris Suite”, a 2007 lithograph collection, to give a range of B&O speakers a striking new look as part of our second collaboration together.

B&O & 1017 ALYX 9SM

As Creative Director at Givenchy, Matthew M. Williams now commands one of the most important jobs in fashion – and 1017 ALYX 9SM, his own label, was where it all started. Together we took to the runway for AW20, with the models for his collection wearing bespoke Beoplay E8s (plus a bespoke carrying case) designed by Matthew to bridge the gap between tech and techwear.
