Bang & Olufsen’s Residence of Beautiful Sound

3daysofdesign 2026

During 3daysofdesign, a historic Copenhagen apartment on Strandgade was reimagined as the Residence of Beautiful Sound—an intimate home where Bang & Olufsen’s past, present, and future unfolded across a series of carefully curated rooms. Within its walls, a century of sound, design, and craftsmanship came together in a setting that felt lived-in, inviting visitors into an immersive listening journey through the world of Bang & Olufsen.

The Atelier experience

An immersive listening installation explored how bespoke sound environments and advanced acoustics can coexist with architecture and interior design. Beosound 2 was showcased in a range of finishes, demonstrating how colour, form, and material can subtly shape its presence within a space.

Japanese artist collaborations

A curated showcase paired Danish design with the craftsmanship of Gyokusendo, Nao Washi, and Karimoku, celebrating shared values of materiality, precision, and patience. Live hammering demonstrations by Gyokusendo provided an insight into the artistry behind its hand-crafted metalwork.

Inside the Residence

Over three days, guests experienced a home-like setting where bespoke creations, Reloved pieces, Recreated classics, and new innovations sat naturally side by side. Collaborations with Japanese artisans Gyokusendo, Nao Washi, and Karimoku highlighted a shared commitment to craftsmanship.

Sound shaped the experience throughout the apartment, from intimate listening moments to live performances, including an appearance by Coco O. More than an exhibition, the residence offered a reflection of how Bang & Olufsen continues to evolve while remaining rooted in the way people live with music.
