Counterfeit - How we tackle it
We have adopted a zero tolerance approach toward counterfeit Bang & Olufsen goods and have put in place a comprehensive program not only to deal with the sellers of counterfeit Bang & Olufsen products, but also the sources thereof, as well as marketplaces and social media platforms engaged in the illegal activity.
At Bang & Olufsen, we take pride in our sound, design, and craftsmanship. However, we are not immune to the challenges of counterfeiters who copy our designs, produce replicas, and sell them as genuine Bang & Olufsen products or use our brand to mislead customers. Counterfeiting is a criminal offence in most countries. Counterfeit products are mostly of very poor quality, crafted under poor working conditions. A test of counterfeit Bang & Olufsen products conducted by an independent test institute showed health and safety risk associated to the use and charging of the counterfeit products. There is a proven risk of battery explosion or fire due to products overheating.
A few simple tips on how to avoid buying counterfeit products

Counterfeit products are often sold at lower prices than genuine products, sometimes up to 60-90% cheaper.
Purchase from authorised Bang & Olufsen resellers:
Bang & Olufsen distributes its products via authorized resellers only. By purchasing from authorised resellers or www.bang-olufsen.com, you can avoid the disappointments of buying a counterfeit product.
Check for authenticity by connecting to the B&O App
When you have received the product, connect it via the B&O app available on all app stores. If the new product does not connect to the app, it is likely a counterfeit product. In such a case, please contact Bang & Olufsen Customer support team
